Procopios
On this day we celebrate the memory of Procopios
of Decapolis.
Procopios lived during the reign of Leo Isaurus the iconoclast
in 740. First, he became a monk, then later, he courageously criticised
those heretics who did not accept the incarnation of the Divine
Word and, thus, they did not venerate the icon of incarnate Christ.
So, he affirmed the truth of orthodoxy not only with words but
also with many sorrows and hardships. Procopios was also a confessor,
and performed many miracles.
