How glad I am each Christmas Eve

How glad I am each Christmas Eve,
The night of Jesus' birth!
When like the sun the star shone forth,
And angels sang on earth.

The little child in Bethlehem,
was Jesus Christ indeed;
Who came from that high state in heaven,
Down to a world in need.

Christ dwells again in heaven's realm,
The Child of God today;
But Christ knows all the little ones,
And hears them when they pray.

How glad I am each Christmas Eve!
God's praises then I sing;
Christ opens then for every child
The palace of the King.
