O sons and daughters

(short introduction)

Alleluia! Allelluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

O sons and daughters, let us sing
the flower of heav'n, alive as spring,
on Easter day rose triumphing,
Alleluia! Allelluia!

That holy morn at break of day,
the faithful women went their way
to seek the tomb where Jesus lay,
Alleluia! Allelluia!

An angel clad in white they see,
who sat and spoke unto the three,
"Christ waits for you in Galilee."
Alleluia! Allelluia!

When Thomas first the tiding heard,
he counted what they said absurd,
but seeing Christ his faith was stirred:
Alleluia! Allelluia!

O sons and daughters, let us sing
the flower of heav'n, alive as spring,
on Easter day rose triumphing,
Alleluia! Allelluia!

Alleluia! Allelluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
