Joseph made both tables and chairs

Joseph made both tables and chairs,
yokes for oxen, plows for the fields.
Caring for his family's needs;
husband of Mary.

Joseph brought up Mary's Child.
Showed him how to work with his hands.
Played with him and taught him his prayers.
Father to Jesus.

Christ, we pray that all children may
have someone who takes care of them,
raising them in love and in joy.
Someone like Joseph.
