Saint Peter fished

(one verse introduction)

Saint Peter fished the sea of Galilee
with Andrew and some others , too.
The day was just like many of the days
in that good land he knew.

But suddenly from the shore Christ came,
advancing toward the boat and it's crew.
The fishermen dropped their nets and stared in fear:
the specter could not be true.

But Peter said, "Can I do that, too?
Walk out on the water to you?"
Christ said "Come on if your faith is strong.
The sea cannot harm you."

But the wind blew up and down and mighty cold
as Peter stepped into the wave.
His nerve gave out; he sank into the foam;
he cried "Oh, save me, Lord, save!"

Christ reached out to Peter and took his hand,
then they both climbed into the boat.
Please, Christ when we like Peter lose our faith,
reach out and keep us afloat.
