All prophets hail you

(one verse introduction)

All prophets hail you,
from of old announcing,
by the inbreathed Spirit of our Maker,
Christ's mother, bringing prophecies to fullness:
Mary, the maiden.

In the high Temple,
Simeon receives you.
Takes to his bent arms with a holy rapture
that promised Saviour, vision of redemption:
Christ, long awaited.

Glory and worship
to the Source of all things.
We sing unresting with the whole Creation:
Maker and Child and Spirit, in the highest,
always and ever.
