Confession

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

Most merciful God,

Ezekiel 1

²⁸Like the bow in a cloud on a rainy day, such was the appearance of the splendor all round. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of someone speaking.

Ezekiel 2

¹He said to me: O mortal, stand up on your feet, and I will speak with you.

²And when he spoke to me, a spirit entered into me and set me on my feet; and I heard him speaking to me.

³He said to me, Mortal, I am sending you to the people of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this very day.

⁴The descendants are impudent and stubborn. I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, “Thus says the Lord God.”

⁵Whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house), they shall know that there has been a prophet among them.

Hebrews 4

¹⁴Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.

¹⁵For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁶Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

¹Every high priest chosen from among mortals is put in charge of things pertaining to God on their behalf, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.

²He is able to deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is subject to weakness;

The Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.
